Meet the newest AI Software Engineer...

Lovable.dev is Everything Devin.ai Had Promised to be

We now have access to a full-stack software engineer from the web, and it’s mind-blowing. Let me show you why.

What’s Possible with Lovable.dev

  • Paste screenshots of UI and get high-quality results (though they may look slightly different from the original)
  • Develop from your phone and deploy to the web
  • Create MVPs in very few prompts
  • Integrate with Supabase backend
  • Import repository to GitHub
  • Use templates to get to production even faster

Why This Changes Everything

We’ve finally reached a point where non-technical people can deploy full-stack applications to the web quickly and compete with technical developers.

But if you’re technical, don’t worry – having fundamental knowledge of how it all works remains one of the most valuable skills.

You can:

  • Get paid to fix issues that non-technical folks will face
  • Create more robust and technically challenging systems
  • Build products that Lovable and most AI code generators aren’t capable of handling

My Experience

With all the hype from Marc Lou’s new coding course CodeFa.st (check it out here if you haven’t already), I saw an opportunity to ship a course builder platform. I went to DeepLearning.ai, the best AI courses on the web, took a screenshot of their course UI, and uploaded it to lovable.dev. I then wrote a prompt requesting a similar course UI for my course builder.

Here are the results (I was shocked):

Honestly, I think the UI generated by lovable.dev looks better. While it missed a few elements from the original UI (like the “Next Lesson” button and progress bar), it looks awesome. It took less than 5 minutes to create this, and I’ll definitely use it for my course builder.

Conclusion

AI keeps getting better. Every week, a new awesome product is released, and this trend isn’t fading anytime soon – especially with the dawn of the AI Agents era. Great things are yet to come, and I recommend trying these new products to get a taste of what the future might look like.

And don’t forget to keep shipping.

Have a great week!

Best, Gabe
